"Remote Out of Control" is the 56th episode of the series and the 2nd(b) of Season 3 of Robotboy. When Tommy and Gus can't watch TV because of Deb, the boys find a way to watch TV using Robotboy. With a little screen so they can watch TV for free, the only problem is that depending on which channel they watch Robotboy mimics it's presentation.

Synopsis[]

When Tommy’s mom won’t let him and Gus watch TV, the boys implant a screen in Robotboy’s head and use his satellite powers to receive programs. But there’s a glitch – Robotboy imitates whatever’s on TV. This becomes a serious problem when Gus insists on watching a movie about aliens who destroy earth. Now Robotboy’s going to do that for real, unless Tommy and Gus can stop him.

Trivia[]

  • The opening of this episode with the man feeding the pigeons in the park (and then gets attacked by them) and with that shot then slowly turn to The Bay Area while zooming in on Tommy's house, was re-used as the opening of the episode Grow-No-Mo!, albeit with different music and no sound effects of the attacking birds.
  • This is the first episode without any major villains appearing.
  • This is also the episode with the least amount of characters. Only five major characters appear. The only supporting characters are the people appearing on television. There are also no background characters other then the man and the birds at the start.
  • In the original storyboards, Robotboy had the TV on his torso.
  • According to the test storyboards:
    • The scene where Tommy and Gus first find out Robotboy copies the TV was meant to be longer.
    • Instead of a Pop-Singer there were to be a Soul Singer.
    • Gus being beaten up by Robotboy was also different and longer.
  • Goof: When Tommy yells at Gus, he looks to the sky. His ears keep straight, still pointing to at Gus instead to the sky.
  • The scream the man made at the beginning is the same sound made by the "Iron Man" of various commercials for Kellogg's Nutri-Grain.
